PURIUM’S ORGANIC TROPIC OIL EARNS NON-GMO PROJECT VERIFICATION!
David Sandoval’s and Amy Venner’s commitment to non-GMO food began 20 years ago and it has never wavered. In an effort to take that commitment and transparency to another level, a year ago we began submitting every Purium product, along with the hundreds of individual ingredients, to the NON-GMO Project for third party verification.
We are proud to announce that the Organic Tropic Oil is the first Purium product that has received this prestigious non-GMO verification. Importantly, we believe that Purium is the FIRST and ONLY network marketing company that is able to use this seal!
Next in line is Power Shake. And then we expect a steady stream of approvals on our entire product line!
Purium’s leadership position in delivering natural whole food products just took a major leap forward and it will be very hard for other network marketing companies to follow in our footsteps.
Look for the non-GMO Project Verified seal of approval on our website and on our product labels as more and more of our products receive this third party verification.
From a health perspective …
Our goal is to have 1,000 women in 100 communities help 10 customers each eat cleaner and greener. We call this mission “The Million Mom Movement.” Having non-GMO verified products is central to this mission. Purium is a SAFE place to shop for your family and the non-GMO certification is in perfect alignment with our mission.
GMOs, or “genetically modified organisms,” are plants or animals created through the gene splicing techniques of biotechnology (also called genetic engineering, or GE). This experimental technology merges DNA from different species, creating unstable combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and viral genes that cannot occur in nature or in traditional crossbreeding. Many studies have linked the consumption of GMO food with higher risks for a variety of diseases.
High-Risk Crops include:
- Alfalfa (first planting 2011)
- Canola (approx. 90% of U.S. crop)
- Corn (approx. 88% of U.S. crop in 2011)
- Cotton (approx. 90% of U.S. crop in 2011)
- Papaya (most of Hawaiian crop; approximately 988 acres)
- Soy (approx. 94% of U.S. crop in 2011)
- Sugar Beets (approx. 95% of U.S. crop in 2010)
- Zucchini and Yellow Summer Squash (approx. 25,000 acres)
Common Ingredients Derived from GMO Risk Crops:
Amino Acids, Aspartame, Ascorbic Acid, Sodium Ascorbate, Vitamin C, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Ethanol, Flavorings (“natural” and “artificial”), High-Fructose Corn Syrup, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Lactic Acid, Maltodextrins, Molasses, Monosodium Glutamate, Sucrose, Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP), Xanthan Gum, Vitamins, Yeast Products.
Why would farmers use GMO seeds? The sad truth is that the chemical industry has taken over our food supply. The top biotechnology companies are Monsanto, DuPont, Syngenta and Bayer. They account for almost 100% of the genetically engineered seed and 60% of the global pesticide market. They now own 49% of the global seed market – and growing. These biotech giants are using OUR food as a delivery system for THEIR profitable chemicals. That’s right, pesticides can be genetically engineered directly INTO the seeds. We think this is a bad idea.
We believe that God and Mother Nature do a better job of making food than Monsanto, DuPont, Syngenta and Bayer. And if you know other people who agree, please invite them to try Purium products!
From a business perspective …
The market is moving toward us. The biotech companies and politicians don’t want to label foods with genetically-modified ingredients, so it is up to companies like Purium to communicate that we DON’T have GMOs in our products. And that’s what people want! They want non-GMO food. Especially VERIFIED non-GMO food!
In a survey of 1,000 mothers,
49% of moms plan to purchase less processed foods
78% of moms read labels
96% of moms said they planned on making food-buying changes in the next year
In the network marketing space, other companies will have a hard time following our lead because so many of them use soy, corn, synthetic vitamins, maltodextrin and other GMO fillers and flavors.
Non-GMO Project Verification is not only an important point of difference … it is a strategic advantage that will be difficult to copy!
